Chili supper to be held Tuesday for Pharm Dog USA

A program assisting disabled farmers is planned for next week in Albany. Pharm Dog USA is hosting a chili and vegetable soup supper this Tuesday at Albany High School.

Pharm stands for Pets Helping Agriculture in Rural Missouri. Founder of Pharm Dog USA Jackie Allenbrand says the goal of the group is to help farmers with mobility problems get their work done with dogs.

"We train border collies to help them with their livestock purposes.  And we use rescues from shelters and then train them to help with mobility, carrying buckets, retrieving tools, opening gates.  Anything that will help save a little time for the farmers."

Senior Advisor to the Kansas City Royals General Manager Mike Arbuckle will speak on common traits of successful athletes. There will also be a silent auction and videos about Albany athletics.

The supper begins at 5:15 and ends at 6:30 Tuesday at Albany High School. Proceeds go to Pharm Dog USA and Albany High School basketball.
